Flood Plain (FEMA) Letters
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has determined that the flood zone designation of the residential lots is “X (shaded)”, and that West Shores are NOT located in the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA).
A SFHA is one inundated by a flood having a 1-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood). The SFHA is an area where the National Flood Insurance Program's (NFIP's) floodplain management regulations must be enforced and the area where the mandatory purchase of flood insurance applies.
Accordingly, the Federal mandatory flood insurance requirement does NOT apply to residential property in West Shores.
