One of our residents is hosting a private party on the beach, but all West Shores families are invited to float up in a boat or bring folding chairs to the sand and enjoy the music. BYOB. This is a private event that is not open to the public. This event is not funded or sponsored by the HOA.
The actual date of this event is TBD. West Shores traditionally holds an annual Halloween event for the children and grandchildren of residents.
Nominate yourself for one of the two open seats on the HOA board of directors that will be up for election by submitting a candidate statement of interest to hoaboard@westshoreslake.com describing your background, skills and interest in serving our community by this deadline. Include a photo. Submissions will be consolidated and disseminated to lot owners the day after nominations close. Voting will open on January 2, 2025, and close during the Annual Meeting.
If you wish to see what sort of statements are typically submitted, you can review those from prior elections in the Neighbors Only section of the website. The candidate statements of the nominees will be consolidated and emailed out to all residents and posted on the website shortly after the nomination deadline, and will include a photo if supplied by the nominee. Nominations can be accepted anytime, so please don't wait until the last minute to submit a nomination.
Electronic voting for directors to fill two open seats will be conducted during this period using an electronic ballot displaying the names of candidates that are received by the close of nominations.
The seats up for election in 2025 are currently occupied by Mark Dunbar and Carl Bortol. The remaining board members are Corey Taylor, Karoly Mirnics and Jana Wheatley-Renault, whose seats will be up in 2026, and Janet Pol and Don Hansen, whose seats will be up in 2027.
To vote in a West Shores board election, lot owners must have an Electronic Voter Designee form on file, which is available on the Neighbors Only page of the website. Each residential lot has only one designee and only one vote. You can also review a current list of designees and verify that your lot designee is current on the Neighbors Only page as well.
Every January, the owners of the 291 residential lots comprising the West Shores Home Owners Association meet for an annual report of the board and to learn the result of the board elections.
The annual lot owner's meeting will be held at A View at West Shores will be preceded by a social hour, with a cash bar, beginning at 6:00 pm, with the annual lot owners meeting starting at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. The board will endeavor to make an audio and video feed available by zoom.
The actual date of this event is TBD. The End of Summer Bash is open for all adult homeowners and those in the process of building. Someone will be opening up their lovely home and backyard for the night. Appetizers, snacks, desserts, beer, wine, water & more will be provided. We hope you can join us for a fun summer evening on the lake.
West Shores will put on a spectacular fireworks show on July 3 at 10 pm. The display will be shot from the island.. Rain date is July 4.

GNO is back! The women of our neighborhood enjoy a wonderful evening out every month in the fall, winter and spring, typically on the first Wednesday of the month. We enjoy some wine while we play an easy dice game called Left Center Right, for which you need to bring six one dollar bills.
The HOA is sponsoring a Concert on the Lake featuring Hotel Desperado, an Eagles tribute band, on this date. This is a private community event for residents and their guests and is not open to the public. Lot Owners and their families can grab chair and sit on the beach or float up in their boat. Cars belonging to residents will be displayed at West Shores from 10 am to noon at the Fourth Annual West Shores Fourth of July Car Show.

West Shores has traditionally held an annual picnic or fish fry on the weekend prior to the Fourth of July weekend. Festivities for the kids will include Inflatables, games, tattoo art, shaved ice machine and more. Limited table and chairs will be provided. Let's all gather and get a head start on the Independence Day celebration.

Come enjoy a fun evening with your West Shores neighbors. Your progressive journey will begin at a main cocktail house and then move on to a salad house, and finally to a dinner/dessert house. Couples each bring a bottle of wine to the salad house and a bottle to the dinner house. The food is catered, but a number of volunteers willing to host a salad or a dinner house for 8-12 guests are still needed. Click the event date or title for more info.
The next monthly West Shores Home Owners Association board meeting is scheduled for this date and time. This meeting location is the Mirnics Residence. Lot owners are welcome to attend.
